Farm fresh

Okay, they are not really from the farm but from our next door neighbor, Marcy. Spencer loves feeding and "petting" the chickens , but especially loves collecting the eggs. When I asked him which came first, the chicken or the egg...."They come at the same time, Mama" like my question was absolutely ridiculous. He's a smart one.

Beatin' the heat

How do you escape the heat here? Talk your friend Maggie into taking you up to Sparks Lake complete with picnic dinner and a little vino. Perfect.

Good reason for a girls trip

Britta and Marc were back in Seattle and how could I miss that? Britta, a fellow LIOSian, moved back to Germany after we finished school and the last time I saw them was when we were in Germany when Spencer was 14 months old. Yes, they are a brave and an extremely gracious couple.
They came back to celebrate and renew their vows after 10 years and so Sahalie and I took it upon ourselves to make a girls trip out of it. Ann, my hero, secured us a free ticket from one of her pilot buddies and off we went. I most certainly enjoyed that free glass of wine on Horizon thank you very much that kicked off our weekend of waterfront BBQs at Ann's house on Lake Tapps, girl time with Ann, Zoey and Sahalie, celebrating 10 years with Britta and Marc, and a gorgeous day on Captain Johns boat navigating the waters of Puget Sound with some other LIOS grads. Loved it.

Those girls I love so much

cascade lilies bloomed today and hiked Bridge Creek.

skuut (weed, california) to mirraco (bend, oregon) in a day

Spencer made the transition from foot-power to pedal-power this weekend! He made it look too easy.
It took a scant two days thanks to the magnificent skuut (I will miss seeing him ride it, for sure). Now he's stepping it up to the mirraco.
Thanks to our friends who know and love bikes, Spencer has ridden nothing but the finest steeds our fine town has to offer!
